(Geo)Science Communication School
The Second International (Geo)Science Communication School will be held in Castiglione del Lago, 27 March -1 April 2017.
The (Geo)Science Communication School GCS 2017 is organized by researchers of the International Centre for Teorethical Physics (ICTP) the Institute of Atmospheric sciences and Climate (ISAC-CNR), the University of Copenhagen and local organization provided by island of meetings (iom).
Over the past decades communication and outreach has become a fundamental concern of state-of-the-art research communities. The relationship between science and society has begun to change radically and communication has become a necessity.
The school has the aim of offering overview and training of scientific communication skills and outreach in all its forms.
Attending the school students will learn how to effectively convey important research results to a public of both experts and laypeople.
The school will consist of lectures combined with the practical application of the material covered in the lectures through lab sessions about the following topics:
– How to write a scientific paper;
– How to write a proposal at international level;
– How to prepare a poster for conference/workshop;
– How to prepare a conference talk;
– Communication to general public;
– Communication to school students and kids (kindergarden);
– Communication through social networks and internet;
– Communication to policymakers;
– Communication through the art and laboratories.
