Ecole Internationale de Physique Subatomique

The fourth edition of the Ecole Internationale de Physique Subatomique will take place in Lyon from the 22nd to the 26th of October 2018. The school is funded by the French Labex LIO and oriented mainly to PhD students in their first and second years with the aim to extend their Master studies on some selected topics which may not be directly related to their PhD studies.

Four courses are proposed this year:

• BSM in the leptonic sector (Sacha Davidson, LUPM Montpellier)
• Mixing formalism (Stéphane Lavignac, IPhT Saclay)
• Machine learning (Jean-Roch Vlimant, CALTEC)
• Introduction to GEANT4 (Antoine Cazes& Olivier Stezowski, IPNL)

Several seminars will accompany the lectures to extend the scope of the courses to future developments and new horizons. All lectures and seminars will be given in English. For application and more information concerning the school please consult the webpage given above.

A few scholarships covering travel and accommodation expenses are available for motivated candidates from foreign countries with. The number of these scholarships is limited, so we encourage prompt applications consisting of a motivation letter from the student and a letter of recommendation from the PhD advisor, both to be emailed to: ecolephysique@sciencesconf.org.
