IPAC23
The 14th International Particle Accelerator Conference (IPAC’23) will be held in Venice, Italy from 7 to 12 May 2023 at the Venice Convention Centre, as a fully in-person event.
IPAC is the main international conference for the worldwide particle accelerator community and industry every year rotating among the continents. The IPAC’23 edition is hosted by Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare and Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste.
Attendees will learn about world-wide highlights in cutting-edge accelerator research and development, hear about new projects, gain the latest insights into accelerator facilities across the globe and, last not least, will have the opportunity to meet their peers and to make new business contacts. Over 1,200 delegates and 80 industry exhibitors from all over the world are expected to attend this remarkable and noteworthy event. IPAC’23 will offer the most complete review on new ideas, important results and ground-breaking technologies in the field of particle accelerator science and technology.
A Scientific Programme Committee of eighteen, plus co-opted, members - representing all the continents - already selected the invited contributions. Submission of abstracts closed on December 7, with 2176 abstracts received, in total. This number is among the largest ever, a clear sign that the worldwide accelerator community looks forward to gathering again with a large in person participation, after the tough years of the pandemic.
IPAC’23 will feature, for the first time in the European editions, a 1.5 days tutorials for students, to introduce them to the large variety of scientific and technological topics that they will face during the 5-days of presentations and posters. A contest for the best two students’ posters is also organised, with ad-hoc prizes. In total, 236 student grant applications from all three regions were received, of which at least 100 will be selected. Student participation to IPAC’23 will be funded by national institutes and learning societies. The European Physical Society is harvesting funds to support European student participation. SIF, the Italian Physical Society, will contribute in sponsoring the students’ tutorials.
