The "Max Planck" Medal 2011 to Professor Giorgio Parisi
Giorgio Parisi, Professor at Sapienza University, Rome, has been awarded the "Max Planck" Medal 2011 for "his significant contributions in theoretical elementary particle physics, quantum field theory and statistical physics, especially systems with frozen disorder, in particular spin glasses". The Max Planck prize is assigned yearly by the German Physical Society (DPG) to physicists who distinguish themselves for their research in theoretical physics.
